On behalf of the Alliance for Extraterrestrial Diplomatic Contact (AEDC), an organization with over 2 million supporters and 25 supporting organizations, I am writing to express our strong support for the UAP Disclosure Act of 2023, an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2024 proposed by the Honorable Chuck Schumer Majority Leader.
The AEDC believes that transparency is essential for understanding unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), also commonly known as UFOs, and their potential implications for humanity. We are deeply concerned about the lack of transparency and accountability regarding UAP investigations to date.
The UAP Disclosure Act of 2023 would address these concerns by establishing an independent review board to assess and disseminate UAP-related information, mandating the declassification of government records related to UAP, creating a centralized collection of UAP records, and addressing potential national security concerns.
We urge you to support this important legislation. The American people deserve to know the truth about UAP, and the UAP Disclosure Act of 2023 is a critical step towards achieving that goal.
In addition to our general support for the UAP Disclosure Act of 2023, we would like to specifically highlight the importance of this legislation to the work of the House Intelligence Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.
The House Intelligence Committee has a responsibility to oversee the intelligence community’s activities related to UAP and the House Armed Services Committee has a responsibility to ensure that the Department of Defense is prepared for any potential threats posed by UAP. The UAP Disclosure Act of 2023 would provide the committees with the information and authority it needs to fulfill their responsibility effectively.
We urge you to join us in supporting the UAP Disclosure Act of 2023. This legislation is essential for national security, transparency, and accountability.
