Creation of the first Alliance for Extraterrestrial Diplomatic Contact

Geneva, February 22, 2021 — In a recent statement, the Raelian Movement has confirmed its leading participation in the creation of an alliance for extraterrestrial diplomatic contact.

’’In order to build on the growing support for an optional protocol to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961) concerning embassies for extraterrestrials, and with the ultimate objective of building such an embassy, we have created the Alliance for Extraterrestrial Diplomatic Contact (AEDC),’’ stated Daniel Turcotte, Raelian Guide and leader of the ET Embassy Project for the Raelian Movement.

This Alliance (AEDC) is a non-profit international network comprised of politicians, diplomats, government officials and others who share the same goal and vision of welcoming extraterrestrial civilizations to establish diplomatic undertakings on our planet.

The Raelian Movement was created in 1974 with the twofold mission of informing the public about the extraterrestrial civilization that created all life on Earth, and building an Embassy to fulfill their wish to come back to Earth officially. “The return of those who created us will happen when certain conditions are met, the most important of which is to have an Embassy to welcome them,’’ explained Turcotte.

To reach this goal, the AEDC believes the first and most vital step is to have an agreed upon and international diplomatic framework for such relations to take place, preferably built around the Vienna Convention and the two existing optional protocols to that convention. “To this end, the AEDC and the Raelian Movement have jointly drafted a third optional protocol to the Vienna Convention—provisionally titled: ‘The Optional Protocol concerning Embassies for Extraterrestrials’—and are promoting discussions around a potential amendment and ultimately adoption of this protocol,’’ Turcotte added.

According to Turcotte, the AEDC provides authoritative advice and information to governments in order to help their ambassadors, military and policymakers understand the nature and significance of a contact with extraterrestrial civilizations and to promote the development of appropriate policies. The Alliance for Extraterrestrial Diplomatic Contact is currently headquartered in Montreal, Canada with continental offices in North America, Africa, Latin America, Middle East, Europe and Oceania.

“We believe that extraordinary times create extraordinary opportunities and building an embassy to welcome an extraterrestrial civilization is certainly a unique and ambitious project that will allow humanity to enter into the long prophesied Golden Age,” said Turcotte. “Imagine the impact of establishing diplomatic relations with an extraterrestrial civilization with thousands of years of scientific, technological and philosophical advance on us! We invite all government officials to express their support for the Optional Protocol concerning Embassies for Extraterrestrials by contacting us and by following us on LinkedIn under, ‘Alliance for Extraterrestrial Diplomatic Contact’,’’ concluded Daniel Turcotte.
